Coeur d'Alene Piano offers  an array of technical piano services including tuning, pitch raises, voicing, action regulation, cleaning, and repairs to the Coeur d'Alene and Spokane areas, also servicing  as far as Sandpoint and Lewiston and anywhere between.

Tuning - For a piano to be at its healthiest, it should be tuned at least once a year. Depending how often it is played, sometimes twice a year is sufficient. If a piano is very far out of tune, this requires a pitch raise which can take a half hour to an hour longer.

Voicing - The wool of the hammer that strikes the strings of your piano will harden and develop grooves over time. Hard hammers give your piano a brighter sometimes harsher sound. Voicing is that process of loosening the fibers of the hammers to give the piano a soft, warmer tone. And it is a simple process that drastically changes the sound of your piano from harsh and tinny to beautiful and soft.

Regulation - There are over 9,000 moving parts to a typical piano. Like any instrument, those parts over time come out of alignment. If your piano feels heavy while playing or loose or just not quite right, it is often because the piano is working against itself. Having your piano regulated is like a stiff person having  wonderful visit at the chiropractor.

Cleaning - Deep cleaning - includes dusting the soundboard, lubrication, polishing brass, cleaning the plate and vacuuming. Light cleaning includes cleaning the outside of the piano, wiping down the keys, and dusting.

Repairs - This service includes any  repair to get your piano playing comfortably, effectively, and looking nice. Loose or broken hammers, foot pedals that are loose or don't work, broken or missing keytops,  or tightening benches, replacing lid pins, and missing strings, etc.
